DEFICIÊNCIA DE ALFA-1 ANTITRIPSINA

A alfa-1 antitripsina é uma proteína responsável pelo equilíbrio entre as proteases e antiproteases pulmonares por meio da inibição da elastase neutrofílica, principal enzima envolvida na patogenia do enfisema pulmonar.

A deficiência de alfa-1 antitripsina está associada ao enfisema pulmonar com predomínio nos lobos inferiores e em jovens, além de também poder ocasionar doença hepática. Nesta imagem de paciente com enfisema por deficiência de alfa-1 antitripsina observa-se hiperinsuflação importante e algumas bolhas no lobo inferior direito. Concomitantemente há retração do hilo D em direção ao ápice por sequela de tuberculose.

The alpha-1 antitrypsin is a protein responsible for the balance between proteases and antiproteases through inhibition of neutrophil elastase, the principal enzyme involved in the pathogenesis of pulmonary emphysema.

The deficiency of alpha-1 antitrypsin is associated with pulmonary emphysema predominantly in the lower lobes and also in young people. In this image of a patient with emphysema due to alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency is observed bilateral hyperinflation and bubbles in right lower lobe. Simultaneously there is retraction of the hilum toward the right apex D because of tuberculosis in the past.
